Ask Me written by Bernard Waber and illustrated by Suzy Lee (2015)
A little girl and her dad go for a walk. Along the way she tells him to ask her questions so that she can answer them. “Ask me what I like? What do you like? I like dogs. I like cats. I like turtles.” The father learns all the things the girl wants to tell him in this series of questions and answers. But most of all, they learn about love.
This story is as sweet as can be. The father humors his little girl as they spend a special day together.
Asking questions, even if you know the answer, is a particularly easy way to get to know someone and show them that you care about them. Have a conversation with your little ones.
This story takes place in the fall, and the leaves are gorgeous on each page. Take your own walk in the fall. Collect some leaves and have some fun.
