I Will Never Get a Star on Mrs. Benson’s Blackboard written and illustrated by Jennifer K. Mann (2015)
Rose is not the best student at math or reading. She does not have the neatest desk. And she has trouble serving the snacks. But, Rose is a wonderful artist. After an artist visits her school, Rose paints the most beautiful thank you card. After she cleans up her mess, Mrs. Benson invites her to come to the board and draw her own star. Rose draws a star for herself and another for Mrs. Benson.
What does your child do to deserve a star? Is he a terrific bed maker? Is she a great table setter? Does he have a wonderful sense of humor? Can she entertain the baby while you are on the phone? Be sure you acknowledge all those wonderful things your child does on a daily basis.
Who wouldn’t love to write his name in stars?
Thank you for this wonderful review! I LOVE the stars you included as an activity!
