I Used to Be Afraid written and illustrated by Laura Vaccaro Seeger (2015)
The girl in this book overcomes a series of fears by looking at each one from a new perspective. She sees past the spider to the intricate spiderweb. She sees past a shadow to the fun of making shadows. She sees past the dark into a wide night sky.
Beautiful concept book with vibrant artwork and cut out images that little ones will love looking through. This book can help kids think about things in a different way so that they are not afraid of it any more. This is especially good, toward the end of the book, when the little girl needs to overcome social fears and fears of situations not things.
