Summary: Digger and Daisy are in a play. Daisy is the princess. She has two words to say. Digger is the tree. He does not get to say any words, trees do not talk. But Digger wants to talk. He practices all the words for the prince and the dragon. On the day of the play, the prince says his words and Digger is quiet. The dragon says his words and Digger is quiet. Then it’s the princesses turn. But Daisy is afraid. She cannot talk. So Digger says her two words, “The End”.

Literary Merit: Easy chapters. Good story line. Predictable ending. Funny characters.

Kid Appeal: Funny story with funny characters. Kids can predict that Daisy will forget her words, but may be surprised by which two words she forgets.
