The Whale in My Swimming Pool written and illustrated by Joyce Wan (2015)
“There’s a whale in my swimming pool.”
“Great, honey. Don’t forget about sunscreen.”
Apparently this little guy is on his own. He tries coaxing the whale out with treats, tricking him with a game of tag and fetch, even using a crane to lift him out, but nothing seems to work. That whale is not moving. Then the boy has a different idea. He simply relaxes in the whale’s water spout! Ahhhh…. Everything is fine until nap time. Now there’s a bear in his bed, and it’s snoring!
If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em. Love this funny take on what to do when you can’t do what you want.
Hope your summer plans aren’t foiled by a whale… or a bear!
