This is Sadie written by Sara O’Leary and illustrated by Julie Morstad (2015)
This is an imaginative story of a little girl who can be anything she wants to be. Some of her best friends are storybook characters and so she often has adventures with them in Wonderland, in the jungle, or under the sea. Sadie builds ships out of cardboard boxes, castles out of blankets and pillows, and stories out of nothing at all. She has wings which can take her around the world and back home again. And this is her story.
Sadie is the perfect character for an imaginative child. She is bold, adventurous, and a little magical. She can encourage your child to be imaginative and still be him or herself too. Once your child is introduced to Sadie, he or she may strike out on their own adventure.
Playing dress up is wonderful opportunity for your child to enhance their imaginative playtime. We used an under-the-bed storage box for my child’s dress up accessories, but I really like this easy to make storage unit found on Pinterest. It keeps everything accessible and clean-up is a breeze.
