Happy Superman Day!
“Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s superman!”
How many times have you heard this sentence repeated by generations of children and adults? Superman was created in 1933 by high schoolers Jerry Spiegel and Joe Shuster in Cleveland, Ohio and was later acquired by DC comics in 1938. Since then Superman has been the number one best selling comic book hero in the world. His popularity has expanded to the small screen and big screen as well as books and merchandise. Today, on June 12, DC comics is giving away free Superman comic books at local stores nationwide. Go ahead and pick up your own today!
Although I have read a number of Superman comic books growing up, I have not read any of the books listed below. These are titles I have found through research not reading.
My First Superman Book written and illustrated by David Katz (2011)
I Am Superman written by Michael Teitelbaum and illustrated by Rick Farley (2009)
The Fate of Krypton written by John Sazaklis (Adapted by), illustrated by Jeremy Roberts (2013)
My kids LOVE superman. We have a couple of the books you mentioned. Thanks đŸ™‚

Thanks for the note Lora. I’m glad to hear that someone who has actually read these books gives them the thumbs up. I imagine there are lots of kids who love Superman stories!
