Happy Memorial Day!

Memorial Day Surprise written by Theresa Martin Golding and illustrated by Alexandra Artigas (2004) is a very special picture book about a little boy named Marco who is going to a Memorial Day parade with his mother.  She has promised him a big surprise. It’s not the decorated floats, or the candy thrown out into the crowd. When the veterans come marching down the street, Marco sees the big surprise… it’s his grandfather leading them in his uniform!
