Yes, it’s true, sometimes bears eat squirrels. But not this bear and squirrel, they’re friends. They play games together and help each other out. The other squirrels don’t understand their friendship. The other bears don’t understand their friendship. But Bear and Squirrel remain friends. When winter came, Bear went to sleep for a long, long time. Squirrel waited for him to wake up. Finally, Bear woke up and he was very, very hungry. He looked at Squirrel hungrily. Squirrel ran to the kitchen and made a huge batch of blueberry pancakes and Bear ate every one, because friends don’t eat friends!

This is a funny story about an unconventional friendship. Kids of all ages will love to hear how Bear satisfies his hunger. It might even make them wish they had a big plate of blueberry pancakes to eat for themselves. Go ahead… make them some! Enjoy a few yourself.
