Happy Happy PJ Day!
I have to admit, I never knew there was an actual Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day for the general public. When I taught elementary school, we often had Wear Your Pajamas to School Day. It was always a part of a greater Right to Read Week or Spirit Week. The whole staff would join the kiddos in wearing PJs. We would do up our hair in curlers, wear fuzzy slippers and cozy robes, carry teddy bears, and bring our favorite bedtime storybooks. So I am super excited that this is actually a national observance. I wonder how many business people have milk and cookies and read picture books on this day?
Go ahead… don your comfy pjs, wrap yourself up in your blankie, and enjoy some great bedtime picture books today!
Let’s start with the 1947 classic Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.
Then read the less drowsy Goodnight Gorilla by Peggy Rathmann.
You could read Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson.
Or try Sleep, Big Bear, Sleep! by Maureen Wright.
Don’t forget Llama, Llama, Red Pajama by Anna Dewdey.
Or, Pajama Time!, by Sandra Boyden.
And finish up with Can’t Sleep Without Sheep by Susanna Leonard Hill.
Thanks Susanna! You know I love your books!
